Pros

  • Named By TIME In 2025: The CryoBoost Foldable 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Station made TIME's Best Inventions of 2025, with the OmniLock car charger and MagMouse given special mentions.
  • Qi2 Certified, Not Just Claimed: ESR holds Wireless Power Consortium certifications QI-24258 and QI-24275 for its 3-in-1 charging stations, and markets its 25W units as certified to Qi2.2.
  • Twelve Months, Or Twenty-Four: Every product carries a 12-month warranty, extended to 24 months at no cost by scanning the Care+ card or registering as an ESR Super User.

Cons

  • Cases are built for MagSafe rather than certified by Apple, and the Qi2 collection mixes certified 25W stations with 15W magnetic ones, so check the individual model before ordering.
  • Returns run 30 days with the buyer covering postage, and orders placed on Amazon are handled by Amazon rather than ESR, so buy direct if you'd like the guarantee handled by the brand.

The Verdict

What sets ESR apart is accessory design that wins awards at prices well under the first-party equivalents: ESR is operated by WayMeet Limited, registered at Maxgrand Plaza on Tai Yau Street in San Po Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, with research and manufacturing in Shenzhen through Electronic Silk Road; the brand moved from ESR Gear to ESR Tech in March 2025 and is led by chief executive Tim Wu. The catalogue covers cases, screen protectors, iPad keyboards and styluses, chargers and wallets, across the HaloLock magnetic ecosystem, CryoBoost actively cooled chargers, Geo Find My wallets, Classic Hybrid, Cyber Tough, Armor Tough and Atelier cases, Armorite screen protectors, Rebound iPad keyboard cases and OmniLock car mounts. In October 2025 TIME named the CryoBoost Foldable 3-in-1 station among its Best Inventions of 2025, and ESR also holds a Red Dot Design Award 2025 and a place on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies 2025. Prices sit a long way below Apple's. Armorite camera lens protectors start at $11.99 and UltraFit screen protector three-packs at $13.99. Cases run from $16.99 for a Classic Hybrid to $26.99 for Cloud Soft, $28.99 for a Classic Hybrid with Stash Stand, $33.99 for Cyber Tough and $45.99 for Atelier vegan leather. On chargers, a 15W magnetic car charger is $26.99, a 15W CryoBoost car charger $39.99, a 15W three-in-one station $76.99, the OmniLock car charger $56.99 and the CryoBoost 25W three-in-one station $99.99. iPad Rebound keyboard cases reach $129.99 and bundles $159.99. Orders over $50 ship free. The reservations matter, and one is a safety matter. In August 2025 the CPSC recalled ESR HaloLock wireless power banks in models 2G520, 2G505B and 2G512B, about 24,000 US units, after nine reports of the lithium-ion battery catching fire and exploding; in October 2025 the recall was expanded to model 2G505 and about 19,500 more units, with the incident count at 20 reports and roughly $30,000 of property damage, and no injuries reported. The remedy in both was a full refund, and ESR publicised the recall itself. Separately, BBB lists ESR Gear as Not Rated and unaccredited, noting that the Delaware address is a registered agent rather than a business location. Trustpilot reads 4.6 across 2,636 reviews on a claimed profile, with shipping visibility the recurring complaint. Made for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch owners who want MagSafe-compatible cases and Qi2 charging from an award-winning designer: the CryoBoost 3-in-1 station made TIME's Best Inventions of 2025. Undamaged items can come back within 30 days for a full refund. Check the model number on any power bank, buy direct and shop now.

About this review

How this was written, who paid for what, and how the verdict stays independent.

Is this ESR review sponsored?

No. ESR did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.

How was the ESR assessed?

By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.

What else have you reviewed in Tech?

Everything in Tech sits in the review library, where you can filter by budget and sort by rating, price or how recently it landed.

Do you update reviews after publishing?

Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
