Pros
- Collector-Grade Scale: Statues are cast in polystone at 1/4 scale in limited runs — the Doom Slayer DX Bonus Version is capped at 400 pieces and weighs about 18.8 kg.
- Pay Over Time: Pre-orders start with a 10% deposit, and you choose the number of monthly PayPal instalments and the day they're charged, editable up to three times.
- Headline Licences: The line-up spans DC's Batman and The Joker, DOOM, Aliens vs. Predator, Street Fighter 6, Evangelion and The Lord of the Rings, with Bonus, DX Bonus and Exclusive editions sold direct.
Cons
- Release dates are estimates and statues ship once finished and fully paid — the DOOM pieces are slated for May to August 2027 — so pre-order the pieces you'll happily wait for.
- The 10% deposit becomes non-refundable after the 24-hour cancellation window and shipping fees are estimated until dispatch, so Economy sea freight, which covers US duties on fully paid orders, keeps costs predictable.
The Verdict
What sets Prime 1 Studio apart is museum-scale, limited-edition statuary from the biggest film, comic and game licences, sold direct from Tokyo: Prime 1 Studio Co., Ltd. was founded in Tokyo in March 2012 and is based in Asakusa, with a gallery shop in Shinjuku and, since 2025, a US payments subsidiary. Its Ultimate Premium Masterline and Premium Masterline statues are cast in polystone, mostly at 1/4 scale, in limited runs: the Doom Slayer DX Bonus Version and Imp Stalker are each capped at 400 pieces, and the Doom Slayer weighs about 18.8 kg. Current licences include DC's Batman and The Joker, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Aliens vs. Predator, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear, Persona 5, Evangelion, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and The Lord of the Rings. Prices reflect the scale. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Red Ranger is $499, The Phantasm $1,099, The Joker DX Bonus Version Exclusive $1,199, the Imp Stalker $1,459, Street Fighter 6's Chun-Li Ultimate Bonus Version $1,599, the Doom Slayer DX $1,799, Batman: The Berserker Rage Mode $2,199, The Lord of the Rings Cave Troll of Moria $2,999 and Machiko & Broken Tusk Predator $3,499. Pre-orders start with a 10% deposit, and PayPal instalment plans let you set the number of payments and the charge date. Standard air shipping takes one to three weeks and Economy sea freight one to three months, with US duties covered on fully paid Economy orders; US orders ship from China. The reservations are part of the pre-order model. Release dates are estimates, statues ship only once fully paid, and shipping fees remain estimates until dispatch; collector forums in 2026 report delays of several months and shipping quotes that rose while orders waited. The deposit can't be refunded after the first 24 hours unless a project is cancelled, change-of-mind returns aren't accepted, and defects must be reported within 30 days for repair or replacement. Terms are governed by Japanese law, and the independent record is thin at two Trustpilot reviews. Made for serious collectors with the space and patience for a centrepiece: limited runs at 1/4 scale, paid over time in instalments. A pre-order can be cancelled within 24 hours if you change your mind. Budget for the full price plus shipping, choose Economy freight and shop now.

It runs a gallery shop at Shinjuku Marui Annex and, since 2025, a US subsidiary, Prime 1 Studio PayLink, Inc., for payments; US orders ship from China. Statues are made of polystone and other materials, mostly at 1/4 scale; the DOOM Slayer and Imp Stalker are limited to 400 units each, with an expected shipping window of May to August 2027. Payment is by PayPal, in one payment or monthly instalments with a chosen number of payments and charge date, editable up to three times; the final payment becomes available when the item is ready to ship. Standard air shipping takes one to three weeks and Economy sea freight one to three months, with US import duties covered on fully paid Economy orders.
Pre-orders can be cancelled through the account page within 24 hours; after that, the 10% deposit is non-refundable except for out-of-stock or cancelled releases. Returns for personal preference aren't accepted, and defects must be reported within 30 days of receipt with photos, serial number and order number for repair or replacement, with a refund considered where an item can't be repaired. Terms are governed by Japanese law. Independently, Trustpilot shows two reviews, and collector forums in 2026 discuss release delays, rising shipping estimates and a factory payment dispute that Prime 1 Studio has denied. It suits collectors happy to wait for a museum-scale piece and pay over time; pick your edition and shop now.

About this review
How this was written, who paid for what, and how the verdict stays independent.
Is this Prime 1 Studio review sponsored?
No. Prime 1 Studio did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.
How was the Prime 1 Studio assessed?
By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.
What else have you reviewed in Media & Entertainment?
Everything in Media & Entertainment sits in the review library, where you can filter by budget and sort by rating, price or how recently it landed.
Do you update reviews after publishing?
Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
